I’m not sure who likes going to the aquarium more, me or the kids. Seriously, I love the water and I’m fascinated by all that lives underneath. There is so much to learn about and explore. And what I love about the aquarium is that it gets my kids learning and wanting to explore. They really love hearing the names of all the underwater creatures and seeing all their crazy shapes and colors. And I love seeing their faces overcome with delight as they take it all in. So, for this Family Fun Friday idea, I’m suggesting you find out if there is an aquarium nearby. If there is, make a plan to go this weekend or sometime soon. Some aquariums even have a special spot where kids can touch star fish or other soft and friendly creatures. What a bonus!
If you don’t live near an aquarium, you and your kiddos don’t have to miss out. There are ‘real time cams’ set up at places like Sea World in Florida where you can see penguins, sting rays, and turtles. I would love to find some cams that have more options but I will admit that I spent some time watching the adorable penguins when I was grabbing the link for you. Do you know of some geat underwater cams that you could share with us?
Also, check out the animal cams and videos at the San Diego Zoo! My kids love to see animals, on land or in the water, so these cams and videos are super fun!
Enjoy seeing some underwater creatures at your local aquarium or use these online resources to spend a few minutes with your kids discovering and exploring!
